- Dennis Harrison, defensive lineman who also starred at Vanderbilt and played 10 years in the National Football League, including competing in the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles.
- John Beard, a defensive back who set a school record with 15 interceptions in one season.
- Dan Leonard, quarterback of Riverdale first championship team.
- John Jones, all-midstate defensive player who played at Tennessee Tech.
- Fernado Bryant, star defensive back on a state champion team who went on to star at Alabama and in the NFL, ending his career as a member of the 2009 Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl championship team.
- Alvin Duke, Mr. Football at running back in 1994 who scored the game-winning touchdown on an amazing run for the school’s first state title before playing for Vanderbilt.
- John Batey, Mr. Football lineman.
- Ralph King, Mr. Football running back and second in the state all-time for touchdowns scored.
- Hulan Watson, former principal credited with the development of Riverdale football into annual championship contender.
- Phil Watts, first Riverdale head coach who led Riverdale to more than 80 wins.
- Dr. O. Tom Johns, Riverdale team physician for more than 30 years.
